Festive Biscuits

The month of giving gifts has begun and festivities are in full swing, Christmas music playing everywhere, shoppers shopping for their loved ones, planning to either cook a festive meal or going out rather to avoid stress and tension. To celebrate Aura turning ONE, I bring to you a recipe of Festive Biscuits.

Ingredients:

2 cups Plain Flour

1¼ cup Icing Sugar

½ cup Butter

1 bar of melted Cooking Chocolate

½ cup chopped Pistachios & Almonds

 ½ cup chopped Chili Flakes

Method:

  1. Whisk icing sugar and butter until fluffy and creamy.
  2. Sieve the flour to the sugar mix and bind together, get those hands dirty and knead the dough.
  3. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  4. Roll out the dough and take a round cookie cutter and cut the biscuits into shape.
  5. Then take a smaller round cookie cutter and cut the center of the biscuit to resemble a donut ring.
  6. Bake for 12 minutes at 180 degrees C or until lightly brown and cool on a wire mesh.
  7. Melt the cooking chocolate in a bowl.
  8. In another bowl add the pistachio and almonds and in a third bowl add the chili flakes.
  9. Dunk the ring biscuit in chocolate and immediately dunk it in the bowl of pistachio and almonds and let is cool off.
  10. Repeat step 9, but this time dunk the chocolate part in chili flakes.
  11. If you prefer plain chocolate then only dunk in melted chocolate.

P.S: You can use sea salt but sprinkle a little rather than dunking the ring whole.
