One reusable pad pack can change the next four years.

The first target is 150 school girls in Taita Taveta County, Kenya, need our support.

For many girls living in remote areas of Kenya, having a period can mean missing school.

Not because they don't want to learn.

Not because they aren't capable. 

But simply because their families cannot afford menstrual products.

Dear Diary Initiatives Kenya, together with its branch organisation Menstruation Movement, is working to change that. They provide quality reusable sanitary pads to girls who need them, helping them manage their menstrual cycles with dignity, confidence and, most importantly, without having to miss school. Listening to a heart felt tales of these young girls, has emotionally impacted me and I made it an initiative to support Dear Diary and Menstruation Movement in their mission to raise awareness.  

This September, we are supporting 150 school girls in Taita Taveta County, towards Voi, Kenya, with reusable sanitary pad packs. The team has already raised enough funds to provide pads for 110 girls.

We now need your help to reach the remaining 40.

£10 provides ONE girl with a pack of reusable pads.

That means our remaining target is:

40 packs × £10 = £400

We're asking our community to help us raise the remaining £400 so that every one of the 150 girls receives her pack.

Why Reusable Pads?

This isn't simply about providing a girl with sanitary protection for a few days.

It's about giving her something she can continue to use.

Each pack contains 4 reusable pads and can serve a girl for up to four years, when properly cared for.

That means your contribution doesn't just help her this month.

It can help her month after month, year after year.

And because the pads are reusable, we're also creating a more sustainable solution for girls and their communities.

The reusable pads aren't mass-produced and shipped in from somewhere else.

They are made by own trained tailors.

The belief is providing menstrual products should never mean compromising on quality.

That's why the materials are carefully selected to make them.

The pads use Fleece Absorbent, a material chosen for its absorbency and suitability for reusable menstrual products.

Every pack is made with care because every girl deserves quality, comfort and dignity.

No Girl Should Have To Choose Between Her Period And Her Education. 

Imagine being a schoolgirl who is excited about learning.

You have lessons to attend.
Friends to see.
Exams to prepare for.
Dreams for your future.

Then your period arrives.

And suddenly, something completely natural becomes a barrier.

For girls living in poverty or in remote communities, the lack of access to menstrual products can mean staying home during their menstrual days.

Missing one day can become several.

Missing several days can affect confidence, learning and attendance.

We believe her period should never stand between a girl and her education.

From One Community To Many

Dear Diary Initiatives Kenya, together with Menstruation Movement, has been donating reusable sanitary pads across different areas of the Coast Region, Kilifi County and upcountry communities.

The aim is simple:

To reach girls who need support and help them stay in school.

This September, our journey takes us to Taita Taveta County, towards Voi.

And we want to make sure we arrive with enough packs for all 150 girls.
