Q & A With . . .
Serena Hewitt
Tell us a bit about yourself, who is Serena?
Hello Everyone
My name is Serena Hewitt, as a child I was curious and knew there was more to this life than meets the eye, so my spiritual journey began very early on. I was always helping others out and making a positive impact on people's lives whether a smile touched their heart or a sound advice or just be a friend. I loved seeing people happy and being empathic, I just knew when things were out of sync and did my best to make things positively better. I love connecting with nature weather it is open water swimming or walks in the woods or just sitting on Marine parades bench watching the sunset.
I love singing (Although not everyone appreciates it 😂 lol) I enjoy dancing whether it's Line dancing or general moving and swaying to music. Dancing helps me come alive and gets me creating too. I am a strong believer in Karma that what goes around comes back around.
What is Uniquely Serene?
Therapies as well as my Holistic Jewellery and My Spiritual Awareness Circle.
How did your Uniquely Serene journey begin?
I started my business back in 2012 as Usui Reiki Practitioner and over the years I accomplished to do more as I wanted to take my Holistic and Complimentary business to a newer lever that's Unique, Inspiring and Calming in a positive and beneficial way for my clients to enjoy and feel better in themselves. Hence the name Uniquely Serene.
I now offer treatments as a Master Usui Reiki Practitioner, Angelic Reiki Practitioner, Indian Head Massage and Hopi Ear Candling.
What is your style of making jewellery?
I make holistic reiki infused Kumihimo jewellery which incorporates crystal gemstones to assist my clients with their needs in a form of a bracelet. This came about during the lockdown in 2019 where I was unable to get to my clientele, so I created an item of jewellery to help with their needs that was both holistic and stylish. It took a lot of experimenting and time to finalise the right balance and finally created the Holistic Gemstone Bracelets.
What type of jewellery do you make?
I create sterling silver gemstone necklaces, hypoallergenic and sterling silver dangle earrings and holistic gemstone sterling silver stud earrings, charm bracelets, key rings from the ages of 3 years onwards.
What is your favourite material to work with?
I enjoy using silk braiding nylon as it's durable and lovely to work with and soft to touch.
Do you make custom jewellery for your clients?
Most of the jewellery are custom made by yours truly. All my clients are treated with the upmost respect and made to feel good especially when creating something special that's custom made to their liking such as the colour, gemstones, and size. This is unique to them that they can be proud of, enjoy wearing and feel the benefits.
You recently started a psychic, medium circle, what happens in these circles?
My Spiritual Awareness Circle is where like-minded people can come together and have a chance to discover, enhance, explore, and practise their spiritual abilities whether it is a platform, mediumship, or psychic readings in a safe and holistic place without pressure.
There will be mini workshops every week for confidence building, to work with spirit, and help build up connections both working in pairs or as a group.
Jewellery and Mediumship are different, how do you combine the two?
Jewellery and Mediumship are different, but the name says it all Uniquely Serene, I combine the two as my intuition helps me to create the right jewellery for my clients and the jewellery making gives me a chance to calm my mind as you need to quieten the mind to experience the connection with spirit. Although they are different they both work well collaborating together to deliver the very best of both with the mediumship work and designing jewellery.
What are the challenges you face in your profession?
The challenge I face with my profession is believing in myself and not get overwhelmed as being a natural empath it's difficult not to be a people pleaser and get taken advantage of. Which I am working towards being more confident and disciplined by doing daily affirmations and trust that whatever is meant to be will be and that we are never given more than what we can handle. Trusting is believing is my motto in my holistic approach.
Do you have a morning routine to set you for the day?
Morning is my best time to create and make my jewellery as have natural light which is easy on the eyes and evenings is best for me to quieten the mind and prepare my mini spiritual workshops for the week ahead for my circle.
Listening to upbeat music of any kind from pop to reggae helps me to get motivated when making jewellery and anything relaxing such as a guided meditation or listening to holistic therapy music helps me unwind and clear my stresses away and helps with my mindfulness and intuition.
What’s your go-to way of winding down after a long day?
My go-to way of unwinding is Yoga as it helps to release any tension and prepares both my body and mind to calm.
What is the one word that you want people to associate you with?
The one word I would like people to associate me with is Inspiring.
Although I prefer more than one which are Uniquely, Holistically Inspiring
If you were not Uniquely Serene, what would you be doing?
If I was not Uniquely Serene I probably would be teaching and have my own holistic pre- school
